Well, you see. What may look good to some is utterly tasteless and tacky
looking to others. If you think being plastered with stickers of parts
companies look cool thats just you. If you think some of those garish
looking bodykits that serve no real aerodynamic purpose looks good, I guess
thats your opinion. A guy I know at school has an Accord. He has stock
wheels and springs that are cut to give the car no fender gap whatsoever. To
me atleast,this guy is a fool. Not only has he adversely affected the
handling of his car, it looks like shiet.
I got no problem with people who are true enthusiasts. People that know what
they're doing and if they intend on modifying something, they will do it
right. Not in some half arsed manner to make a fashion statement.
I don't think bodykits by themselves are RICEY. It gets RICEY when you see
those kits that have wings and a huge gaping mouth that serve no function at
all. RICERS are pretend car enthusiasts. Form should follow function and
still look beautiful. That will get my respect, stickers and agressive
looking bodykits that do nothing but make the car "look" fast is kinda
pointless.
Too many people seem to be under the impression their family/economy car is
some sort of supercar with a few mods.
I know ALOT of VW,Honda drivers that think so... I even know this kid with
a Beretta that thinks his car is a performance car. Clearly these people
have never actually driven a performance car. Most of the people I see don't
even know how to rev match. So I'd guess these people wouldn't know much
about performance driving either.
I read all these streetracing stories but how much skill does it take at all
to slam through the gears in a straightline? In a competitive atmoshphere at
the strip its another matter but most of what I see is bullshit. It doesn't
take any balls or skill to street race. Maybe thats why so many people do it
trying to prove what a big man they are.
Sorry for the rant....... The daily butchery inflicted on cars I see daily
at school and the attitudes of stupid kids are finally getting to me.
