Hey guys/gals,
I just recently went through a series of events which have lead me to a
problem. 1st my stock muffler broke off, so I ran no muffler for a while,
after an hr. of driving the check engine light came on. The code said it
was the rear oxygen sensor. Because of that problem I decided to do an
experiment, I reattached my stock muffler and cleared the computer codes.
The light never came back on. Today I got an aftermarket Universal Straight
through muffler put on. I had no problems until about a full day of
driving. The check engine light is back on with the code telling me the
rear oxygen sensor is malfunctioning again. What can I do to cure this
problem? Can I just get rid of the rear oxygen sensor? Will replacing it
fix it? Its driving me nuts. The car runs fine and gets normal gas
mileage. Please help!
Thanks,
Greg Taylor
