Crank the motor over and you will either see

Just take a multimeter and measure the resistance of the coil. Should
measure approx 7k ohms. Just another way to checking the coil.
Infact, if you have a multimeter handy. You can check the power transistor,
the coil, the primary wire that goes from the coil to the distributor, and
all the plug wires.
