Gentlemen,
It is nice to find you guys, even though my motives are purely selfish. I
have a problem I hope to be able to figure out. I look forward to the
assistance of your collective brain power.
A friend of mine has an automatic '97 Nissan Sentra GXE. Every once in a
while, as she is trying to slow down (from say freeway speed), she presses
the brake pedal and it becomes very hard, the engine winds up (causing her
to go faster!) and she has to resort to the e-brake to slow down. She has
taken it to many places and everyone is focused on the brake system. Much
money has been spent and no solution yet.
I was thinking, from a previous posting that maybe the Throttle Position
Sensor might be screwy, but before I go out willy nilly trying to fix that
(no check engine light on the dash), does anyone know of a similar problem
and how it may be corrected? Is there a sensor in the ABS systems that would
signal the engine to ease of the gas when the brakes are hit that may be
going bad?
Anyway, some sage advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all
Pete
