that is strange thing to go bad in a transmission, but not out of the
question. You will have to go to a parts yard to one for this year of a car.
I take it its a 3 speed automatic? Try calling various recycling yards in
the phone book and get prices. If the mechanic says that the converter is
bad, I wonder about the rest of the tranny. How many miles on the car? if
high, I would get a new transmission and converter from a reputable junk yard
that specializes in Nissan parts. What part of the country are you from?
