<< HI Greg:
Say your new antenna looks good, but one question have you noticed any
improvement on receptation on AM or FM over the stock antenna?
 Thanks

piece of advice about reception! if you're antenna is not tune to a proper
frequency range.....let's say more sensitive than standard radio antenna
config---- you'll end up
pickin up frequencies from power lines, your alternator and specially at
traffic lights.....you'll notice this while passing under these traffic
lights and power lines ( you'll hear noise)....I tried this when I was in
college (taking industrial electronics)i had my car antenna replaced by a
super sensitive microwave antenna since this antenna has high frequency
bandwith it covers from HF to microwaveF-- well inside that range we do have
frquencies broadcast by radio stations such as the FM and AM....TV stations,
cell phones and a like......

because of this antenna's sensitive characteristics..sometimes you'll hear
channel 7,
noise from cell phones....sometimes chinese and german broadcast....
this antenna works fine...on whatever frequency you tuned in..but it's not
clear! it picks up everything along its way.....this also includes your
wireless 900 mhz home telephone... it does these things only when you drive
in the city not in suburbs!

So if you want a clear reception..stick to a standard antenna config and buy
a decent receiver ( i have a blaupunkt radio receiver with CD) with 1
percent tolerance frequency block reception.......this'll be good and sharp
reception for you.....
Well the blaupunkt i have is an indonesian made...i'm still looking for
German made!

By the way about The Antenna I used?......it is from iCom CB radio just like
those motorola high powered tranceivers ( 12 watts i think, this is enough to
ionize your brain cells).....these could reach you 65+ mile radius.....Isn't
this cool!

Sometimes stock antenna picks up frequencies generated by the
Alternator......u could fix this problem by installing a filter capacitor (
sorry i forgot the value) after the rectifier output of the
alternator......new alternators nowadays have a built-in filter circuit
installed!
