Most of what you said is true.  However as a point of clarification your 
list of the best conductors is a little out of order.  This is the correct 
order with the specific resistance in ohms of each type of wire being 1 foot 
long: Silver (9.9), Copper (10.4), Gold (14.7).  As you can see gole is not 
the conductor with the lowest electrical resistance.  The reason that it is 
preferred in car applications is that it resists corrosion and tarnishing.  
This trait of gold is important in high current applications because in cars 
current flows on the outside diameter of the wire.  Other than that your 
statement is correct.
