In the case of the GT-S, I can see how it's rather easy to misshift; the
gates are pretty tight. (Many of the reviews I've read of the '00-'01 Celica
note this.) I think that's more the cause of the problem than "not knowing
how to drive." When I drove my brother's GT-S, it took a bit of readjusting
from the long, rubbery throws on the stock Sentra shifter...and couple that
with some nasty snow-covered roads, it makes for one fun drive.
