Sounds like they are trying to pull a fast one. If the stock pulley is
neutrally balanced (i.e. no counterweights) and the replacement is also
neutrally balanced, then there is no way the aftermarket pulley is going to
screw up engine balance. But lacking any detail about what your situation
is, it's hard to say. If this is the same car that got destroyed by a bad
downshift, if your car was running fine prior to the bad downshift then it's
the downshift that killed you, not the aftermarket pulley.

Subject: SML: Warranty Voided because of UR pulleys and CAI!!

Help!! At first the dealer just called me and they're blaming it on my UR
underdrive pulley. They gave me an estimate of $1000 and right now I can't
take out my car unless I pay the $96 for the cold air intake fee. They
haven't figured out what's going on with my car yet and they're already
blaming it on the pulley and I have to agree with the $1000 for them to
continue their inspection. I asked them do I still have to pay if they
discover that it's not related to my pulley and they gave me an inexplicit
answer. "Nissan immediately voids the warranty on their cars if there are
any modifications done to it. It is stated in the manual. But we can be nice
and let the warranty cover you if we find the problem is not related to the
mod."
But I think they are going to blame everything on the pulley because he said
it unbalances the engine and can cause serious damage. Oh shoot what should
I do now? I can't afford shelling out 1 grand just to find out the problem
and another 5 grand to fix it. What should I do? Any advice? Should I bring
it to another dealer and put back on the stock pulleys and intake? Did they
input all the information in the Nissan network so other dealers can see the
history of this visit? Please help me. Thanks guys!!!

PS. No bashing this time please!!
