i jinxed myself, i unsubscribbled to the list and went to start my car the
next day and it was dead. i remember leaving the lights on for about 5
minutes , this caused my battery to die. the battery has been recharged, and
everything seems to be working again. here is the question/problem. i have
forgot the lights for hours sometimes and was able to start her right up. i
got a voltage meter and tested the battery with the radio, fog lights and
head lights on. when the car is at idle or off and head lights on under both
circumstances the voltage on the battery starts to drop. but when i rev the
engine the voltage goes past 13v. is this normal? i also noticed when the car
is off and radio on the voltage drops as well, but doesnt keep falling when
the car is idled. do i have a problem with my headlights?.
i can understand that when things are running with out the car on that the
battery will drain, but to have the headlights kill the battery when im at
idle sucks, im gonna have to charge that battery every few months. help---ken
