Hello All,

Recently, I inherited a '93 Sentra XE. One owner car, 70000 miles.

After reading over the sentra.net site, I found some topics that intrigued me
regarding improving the performance of this car. Not so much on the horsepower side,
but rather from the brakes and suspension side.

I also own an '89 Ford Escort LX. I have upgraded the entire suspension with parts
from Escort GT's I found in the junkyard (and new springs/struts), so the car is
basically a good handling econo-box, much better than stock, I might add. For
example, the EGT came with a rear sway bar from the factory (LX did not) and the front
bar is significantly larger than the LX piece. The beauty of it is that both pieces
bolted right on to my LX, and I was able to get both for $25 from the salvage yard!
Not exactly top o' the line, but still a major improvement over the coat hanger Ford
originally installed as a front sway bar!

What I would like to do is to find out if any SE-R parts, such as wheel/tire, sway
bars, and braking stuff will fit. Are the SE-R swaybars larger, springs stiffer etc?

In the tech section of the sentra website, the author mentions that upgrading to SE-R
rotors, though minor, can improve performance for little investment. But, the author
failed to mention whether or not the calipers and pads were different. It just so
happens that my Sentra is still on its original brakes! (ie time for a brake job this
weekend). To use the SE-R brakes, what exactly would I need to buy from the parts
store?

After checking the price on NX2000 brake components, I realized that the cost is
prohibitive. But, I know where a wrecked SE-R is, and I am wondering just how many
components from that car will bolt directly onto mine, like sway bars, strut tower
braces etc.

Any input on these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
