I just bought a brand new Alpine head unit. It can't be the head. The RCAs are 4 channel RCAs basically like having two sets running back to the separate amps. -----Original Message----- From: Alex [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Saturday, February 10, 2001 10:28 AM To: Sentra Mailing List Subject: SML: Re: Sound System problem! Please help! well the thump you're hearing is technically caused by a potiental difference. although it is possible its the alt, i kinda doubt it. how are your rca ran? does it go from the HU to the highs amp then from there to the sub amp? or from the sub amp to the highs? if it is try switching the wires around to pinpoint what's causing it. check and see if its just coming from the sub amp by siwtch the rca's between the two amps. if it goes away its the amp. i personally think its the head unit, whether its the wiring or not, the single comes from there and changing sources should not have a thump, nor changing tracks. try regrounding and getting a fresh power lead from the fuse box or tap into the 4 guage.
