+?L$?y car to my mechanic awhile back due to an awful noise that turned out to be from the motor mounts. While he replaced the mounts, he noticed that the clutch was adjusted wrong. I was used to the clutch engaging close to the floor, and not towards the top. He asked me if I grinded gears a lot, and I said the normal, only when its cold into second type of thing. Lately I noticed that i've been grinding into gear a lot more than normal, and also that I didn't like the clutch engaging far from the floor. So I adjusted the clutch so now it grabs closer to the floor... O.K. so here's my question... can adjusting the clutch, so that it engages closer to the floor, actually reduce grinding? Because i've noticed a reduction of gear grind since the adjustment. Could it be that you can actually push the clutch in TOO far? I'm just kinda confused on this. Any insights are appreciated... maybe i'm just goin crazy. Joe McD 91xe ga16 144,000 on original clutch P.S. How long do most stock clutches last under normal driving? What's the longest that a stock clutch has lasted? And yes, my clutch slips, but only very slightly. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ To unsubscribe, put "unsubscribe" (by itself) in the subject and send to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or use the form at http://www.sentra.net/sml
