Normally the bump stop is part of your strut boot. If you are repeatedly,
frequently hitting the bump stop then you have probably lowered your car too
much. If it's not frequent and happens only under severe road conditions,
you can usually cut some off the bump stop. DON'T remove it altogether; if
you hard-bottom your strut you will probably break it. I believe there is
some discussion of this on the sentra.net technical section.
