I used the motor with a pipe on the socket wrench and secured it against the
wheel well. Then cranked the motor. Remember to remove the coil wire and
wires from the motor so it doesn't start. I shimmied the pully off by
slightly applying pressure against the front cover with a large screw driver.
wiggle all sides and it should pop right off. I did not use a puller and I
had no rust on the shaft, so that may be the reason it came off with no
problem. The bolt was in excellent shape and was still gold cadmium plated.
torqueing it on is another story, you must torque it to the book specs to
make sure its tight. I used a screw driver and placed it through the hole of
the pully and then placed it on the front cover corner, then I was able to
torque it. Otherwise it will spin and you won't get it tight.
