If you get them from Tire Rack they will heat cycle them for you for a extra
cost, read the info on TireRack.com web site on how tires are heat cycled and
you'll under stand why they need to do it, as far as I know Discount tire
does not have the equipment to heat cycle tires. One other thing think about
using 195/55/14 tires rather than the 195/60/14 if you going to stay with a
stock size rim, both Discount tires and TireRack has them in both sizes. I
run un heat cycled Dunlop Sp 8000 195/55/14 which I bought from Discount
tires and really like them a lot, when I bought them I had planed to use them
for autocrossing only but I like them so much as a daily driver tire I've
kept them on all the time now, but they do wear out faster as they are only
rated as a 200 tread wear tire. I checked the Discount tires web site and got
a price of $69.00 per tire plus shipping, then went to my local Discount tire
store and got the store manager to match the web site tire price and the
shipping and sales tax were just about the same so it was a wash out on that.
One thing on the Dunlop tires if you do decide to get this size and type of
tire there are two painted on dots on the tire one is yellow in color and the
other is orange, the yellow painted on dot color should be lined up with your
valve stem on your rim if your going to be mounting these tires on a import
car, why I've forgotten now but its in the paper work that comes with the
tires, but it has to do with the tire balancing, the orange color is if the
tires are to be mounted on a domestic car.
Good Luck
Ron
