It's paint thinner.  Any paint thinner you get that's not turpentine is
likely to be mineral spirits.  And it's not nearly as volatile as, say,
acetone.  Or carbon tet, not as if you'd be likely to find any of THAT
around.  Look in the paint section of Home Depot or Lowe's and you will find
it.

Any rag that is clean and won't leave lint is fine--if it is kind of a rough

cloth, so much the better, just don't scratch the parts. The plastic needs 
to be absolutely clean.

Chemically, I have no clue what mineral spirits is--it's volatile as hell 
and you shouldn't it inside. Anyway, you can find a can of it at a 
department store, wherever they keep the home repair type of stuff. Just ask

someone, they'll know what it is.
