Jay,
That noise you're hearing when you hit bumps is your car bottoming out. If you son't
have the bump stops, you're just tearing your car up along with the stock struts. The
factory bumps go tore up because they're too big. You're supposed to trim them down.
You lowered your car with the Sportlines which gave your car 1.9" less travel. The
stock struts don't have any room to dampen the springs. They're not supposed to do
much dampening at all with such small travel area. You need aftermarket shocks/struts
to provide better dampening with less travel. Some good ones are Koni and KYB AGX.
There are also aftermarket bump stops that are made for lowered vehicles. Koni
produces them and they are the best out there. If you keep your car like it is, you're
jsut asking for a major repair bill.

Subject: SML-NON-P: drop stuff questions
sup list. i just bought a 1999 sentra se. I just recieved my eibach
sportline and had a question. I'm gonna be using my stock shocks but iI need
to know if i would still need to use the rubber boot that covers the shock.
when I lowered my 97 200sx se, i left this boot on and it just got tore up
after a while. So i said phuckit and took it out and got a lil more travel.
Also is it natural for the rear springs to klunk after hitting bumps? On my
200sx se i looked in the trunk and noticed that that the middle nut on strut
wasn't down all the way. i tried tightening it down but i ran out of tread.
So i ended up adding a buttload of washers so it wouldn't "ku-Klunk" after
every bump.
