lately I have noticed some oil seepage coming
from my transmission. I have since tracked its
origin to my neutral switch. Under further
investigation I discovered its not leaking from
the threads that hold the switch in place, but
rather from the electrical terminals within the
switch. Now here is my question; What function
does the neutral switch perform? I always
assumed it was a sensor which worked with the
cruise control. My car is an E trimmed 92 classic
(read, no power anything). Could I potentially
delete the switch an plug the hole without throwing
my ECU into a world of hurt? I have already tried
sealing the terminals on the back of the switch with
sealer, but that was unsuccessful. If the neutral
switch isn't used on my car I would like to avoid
purchasing a $20+ switch to plug the hole.
