Hi!
I was wondering if anyone out there is using Epic for electronic health record,
and has put a SIRS positive alert into the chart?(or any such Sepsis
recognition Alert)
What I am thinking of--is something that looks for the SIRS elements such as
elevated temperature, elevated WBC, etc., and if 2 or more are present,
Providers are prompted with an alert to investigate for possible Sepsis.

I have a DREAM that electronic health record means you can capture data in real
time and help people know when something is amiss, and be a tool for
identification for the healthcare provider: "a patient may be going
downhill-please take action!"

Thanks in advance,
Betsy
