There is still an option for empiric fluid loads (remember this effort started 
in fall of 2010), however, many in the group are leaning away from that and 
doing something for targeted end-potions of resuscitation, lactate clearance, 
ivc ultrasound etc. in the " non-invasive" arm. 
The impending regulations from NYS DOH for severe sepsis are going to require a 
physiological target for resuscitation, and triggers to "convert" from invasive 
to non-invasive
