Lines may be placed by either the ED or ICU. It depends on the patient need and
other available access.

Subject: [Sepsis Groups] Line Insertion

Hi all!

I am currently looking into revamping our sepsis protocols and was wondering
how other institutions handled line insertion on sepsis patients. Does your ED
insert the central and arterial lines or are those lines inserted after
admission to the ICU?

Thank you!
