At our hospital we are celebrating in three different ways:

1. For patients and families we have decorated water bottles with Sepsis
information and will be giving them away in our hospital cafeteria on World
Sepsis Day, Friday, September 13th.

2. For our nursing and other clinical staff we have printed up Tshirts
for them to wear that day. We also made badge buddies that list the sepsis
criteria and the EGDT.

3. For physicians we have created laminated pocket cards that list the
appropriate antibiotics.
Our hospital has a 5% mortality rate for sepsis.

Warmest regards, Kim

Subject: [Sepsis Groups] Sepsis management in Veteran's Affairs (VA) hospitals

Dear All,

September is Sepsis Awareness month, how are we celebrating this? Can anyone
,please, share their thoughts/input regarding sepsis management in Va
hospitals. This is a shout out to our Armed Forces members.

Ms Mary Ann, thanks for your dedication to the campaign, makes me really proud
to be CCRN - certified. Through the SSC, our metrics for survivial rate has
gone up from 78.5 % in 2009 to 82.2% in 2012. Collaboration/teamwork really
makes a difference. I hope I can convince my hospital to take part in the
IMPRESS study, next.

Sincerely,
Carina RN BSN CCRN
MD.
