Hello Joe,

Not in practice but in perspective (all I can offer), I'd suggest looking it
at the opposite way. They are suspected as having an infection unless
proven otherwise.

Try..

Everyone is septic until proven otherwise.

Best,

Matt Reavill

Subject: [Sepsis Groups] Definition of "Suspected Infection" for sepsis
Screening

Hello,

We are seeing great variation in how "suspected infection" is interpreted by
triage RNs in our ED, resulting in patients being missed. Has anybody
created any guidelines to define this and make it more consistent/objective?

Thank you,

Joe
