The process at our organization is that nurses routinely screen for sepsis, and
if they encounter a positive severe sepsis screen, when documenting in the EMR,
an automatic page goes to the RRT. They come and screen the patient, and if
deemed positive, they call critical care intensivists to intervene.
We also have a proactive RRT and are adding a positive sepsis screen to their
observation list for patients to watch out for.

Subject: [Sepsis Groups] Rapid response and sepsis

Hello,
We are setting up a rapid response team at our hospital.
Anyone have any information on screening for sepsis during a rapid response
call?
