Hi Donna, I took the old 20ml/kg equivalents for NS and albumin, divided in by 2 then added that amount to the 20ml/kg equivalent to track compliance wit the new 30ml/kg recomendations. For example, the old 5% albumin was 5.2ml/kg so the equivalent to the new 30ml/kg for 5% albumin would be 7.8ml/kg. Hope that makes sense and hope I am on the right track.

I have attached the fluid conversion from the old SSC guidelines. Do we no longer accept Albumin when it is used during fluid resuscitation it is not included in the new abstraction tool? If Albumin is still acceptable what is the current equivalent Milliliter/kilogram amount? [cid:[email protected]] With Regards, Donna Hixson R.N.
