Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center (VCUMC) is evaluating the need for electronic sepsis alerts in the ICU areas. We utilize the Cerner St. John Sepsis Alert system for non-ICU inpatients. Is your electronic alerting system (if you have one) active in your ICU units? If so, have you experienced issues with alert fatigue or high false positive rates?
