We are looking at instituting a nursing protocol to implement if we have a positive screening. (i.e., go ahead and get lactic acid, etc) Is anyone else doing this or something similar? If you are then did you do a medical staff approved policy or a protocol that then requires the protocol to be put on the chart for MD signature as soon as possible?
