Hi Everyone

I'm just curious if anyone has encountered this issue and would you have a
possible solution?

For VTE, My colleague uses the admission date of when the order was written for
"Admit to Inpatient." This is per the CMS guideline for VTE. When she queried
QNet earlier this year, they said that the admission date data element should
be abstracted the same way for all the core measures.
I, on the other hand, have to at times use the actual day the patient had an
encounter, which is usually the day they were admitted to the ED for Sepsis
measure.
This creates a conflict because the admission data element is different for
sepsis as compared to VTE.

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks

Regards

Salome
