Allowable Values:

1 (Yes) Crystalloid fluids were administered prior to, at the time of, or after 
the presentation of septic shock, AND the volume ordered was 30 mL/kg.

Notes for Abstraction:

* Crystalloid fluids are ONLY 0.9% Normal Saline or Lactated Ringers Solution.

* Only abstract crystalloid fluids given for the presence of severe sepsis with 
hypotension, OR for the presence of severe sepsis with a lactate >= 4 mmol/L.

Pt. initially seen in Urgent Care and diagnosed with sepsis, a 2 liter bolus of 
NS was administered prior to transferring to our ED.  Can we use the Urgent 
Care crystalloid fluid administration toward the total volume of fluids 
received?
