Greetings Sepsis Leaders, Sepsis mortality reduction is a complex initiative involving multiple disciplines and departments creating unique challenges in attaining and sustaining improvement.
Physician engagement is essential for a successful sepsis mortality reduction program. A physician leader who can speak and support his or her peers about the evidence-based practice is critical. Physician input in the development of communication tools for the staff to use for escalating concerns regarding sepsis care and overcoming resistance in the application of the three and six hour bundles of care is also vital to improvement.
