The 4th bullet point for Persistent Hypotension in the Sepsis (SEP-1), Additional Notes for Version 5.0b has been identified as an error. The bullet point should state: * If there is more than one SBP reading recorded in the hour following conclusion of 30 mL/kg of crystalloid fluids, and only one is < 90, OR if there is more than one MAP reading recorded and only one is < 65, select Allowable Value "2." The bullet has caused questions. I hope this helps. Auto-Response 02/22/2016 09:05 AM Due to the volume of inquires related to the SEP-1 measure we are experiencing a response lag time. Responses to SEP-1 questions are being answered daily. Please be reminded that Q&As are available in the QualityNet knowledge base tool<https://cms-ip.custhelp.com/app/answers/list/c/576> and a SEP-1 fact sheet<https://www.qualitynet.org/dcs/BlobServer?blobkey=id&blobnocache=true&blobwhere=1228890481688&blobheader=multipart%2Foctet-stream&blobheadername1=Content-Disposition&blobheadervalue1=attachment%3Bfilename%3DHos_Sepsis-FactSheet_082015.pdf&blobcol=urldata&blobtable=MungoBlobs> is posted on QualityNet. Customer By Web Form (Pamela Anderson) 02/22/2016 09:05 AM I'm looking at the Sepsis Fact Sheet released 2/10/16 and on pg 4, related to persistent hypotension, there is a statement that "if more than one SBP reading recorded...and only one is <90 OR ...more than one MAP...and only one is <65, select Allowable Value 3"- indicating the pt was not assessed for persistent hypotension. What is the rationale for that? It seems to me that the patient WAS assessed, and obviously did not have persistent hypotension if the other blood pressures were >90/MAP>65. If the patient only HAD one pressure below the paramenters and the others were above the parameters, how is that considered "not being assessed"? Thank you.
