This is covered by a medical staff protocol.
So any orders entered are "Protocol, no co-sign required"
The RRT nurses choose their medical director name from a drop down list, but 
then select the above comment.
The ICU nurses select the intensivist of the day, then select the above comment.

It works similar to what a CXR after intubation, or line placement, where the 
order is covered by a protocol.

               For facilities that use a Nursing procedure to collect lactate 
specimens, how does your institution verify or co-sign the order of the 
lactate?  Is anyone using a completely independent nursing standard procedure 
or protocol that providers do not verify or authenticate?
