Does anyone have a checklist for rounding on patients to screen for the
potential for sepsis or a new onset of sepsis?
Does anyone have a designated group of staff who check the inpatient population
on a regular basis and screen for sepsis?
Even with the use of our electronic tools - i.e. SIRS, shock index, MEWS - we
still are not capturing some patients who are developing sepsis after their
admission. Hence, the idea of developing a sepsis team or using an existing
group to screen patients for sepsis.
Does anyone have an electronic tool that recognizes signs of organ failure
(similar to a sepsis screening tool)?
Thank you.
Theresa
