How does your ER document IV fluids given prior to arrival (by EMS Sepsis
protocol) so it can be abstracted from the chart to count towards the
30ml/kg requirement?

Our dilemma is the clinical abstractors need a physician order for the
fluids given via EMS. The EMS sepsis protocol is based on physician orders,
but is not a part of the patient record. I was wondering if anyone else had
tackled this and how you were successful?

Any feedback is appreciated.

The last I saw was there wouldn’t be any updates until January of 2018.

*Subject:* [Sepsis Groups] CMS Updates

Forgive me if this has already been addressed:

Does anyone know when the next set of CMS updates will come out for sep-1?
Curious if they will reflect the 2016 SCCM/SSC guidelines.

Thanks!
