Special Guest Panel: Surviving Sepsis Collaborative Success Stories In this special guest panel, participants from the Surviving Sepsis Collaborative will share their experiences with the Critical Connections Live hosts. Raeann M. Fuller, CCRN, MSN, RN, CNML, and Steven Simpson, MD, will talk about their successes and lessons learned related to early identification of sepsis on the wards. Live Session: Controversies in the Early Detection and Treatment of Sepsis This live will broadcast will: * Identify various approaches for early sepsis detection and related clinical challenges in the prehospital, emergency department, and inpatient settings * Consider the controversies relating to the optimal management of the acute phase of sepsis, which arise from recent high-profile clinical trials * Discuss accepted standards of care and areas of ongoing controversy * Develop strategies and implications of the new SEPSIS-3 definition in terms of changing the standards of sepsis care, as proposed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in the Sepsis CMS Core Measures (SEP-1) The session features the following speakers and topics: Improving the Early Detection of Sepsis in the Emergency Department and Patient Wards Tiffany M.
