I delivered my MWRC presentation on Sequel today. I had way too much material I wanted to cover, so I went fast, even though I tried to make an effort to speak slowly and clearly. I was the only speaker reading from a script, because I didn't think I could remember everything I wanted to say, and I'm pretty bad at adlibbing. It was my first time presenting, so hopefully I'll do better next time.
Anyway, my presentation is web based, so it'll be up on the Sequel website soon, along with a transcript (minus the small parts I adlibbed). Hopefully it'll be a good introduction to Sequel. Confreaks was recording all MWRC presentations, and I'm sure the video for that will be up soon. I'll be linking to it from the Sequel website after it is available. One piece of information that I announced at MWRC is Sequel 3.0, which will be the version after 2.12. There aren't going to be major features added in 3.0, it's mostly going to be internal cleanup. See the deprecation thread for the stuff that will be deprecated in 2.12 and removed in 3.0. Most of the big features I'm removing will be moved into plugins or extensions that ship with Sequel. They will remaining supported, though we are probably talking bug fixes and not features. If you are at MWRC and haven't had a chance to talk with me, come over tomorrow and let me know who you are.
