Assuming a hash such as:

  h = {:certificate_number => '01', :location => '02'}

then:

  ds = DB[:certificates].
    filter(:certificates__customer_id=>4)
  ds.filter(h.map{|k,v| k.ilike("%#{v}%")}.inject(:|))
