I do know that the one from the link I gave you does work. Just make
sure there are NO OTHER copies of libmysql.dll on your system anywhere.
I wouldn't put it in Windows/system32. If you do happen to install mysql
for local testing things might get a bit confusing. You can have mysql
5.1 installed on your PC and still get ruby/mysql to work as long as you
put the compatible dll in the ruby lib folder. If it doesn't work in the
lib folder, put it in the bin folder, but not in Windows/system32.
Or use Jruby which doesn't suffer from these issues under Windows :)
