I have been writing my own SQL model libraries exclusively for years. I tried ActiveRecord about 5 years ago but thought it was junk. That's back in the day when DHH dissed on database constraints and wanted all of us to drop our foreign keys. ;-)
Anyway, I started a new ruby project the other day and thought I'd give ORMs a second look. After researching all of the ORMs, looking at syntax, communities, docs, and code, I decided to give Sequel a shot. So far, it's been fantastic! Compared to my custom, handcrafted data models, my Sequel models are significantly simplified!!! Jeremy, Sequel is a piece of of art. You really nailed the syntax; just so elegant and clean! I'd also like to thank you for all the work you're doing on the OpenBSD ruby ports. I cannot thank you enough for moving us from 1.8.6! I really look forward to utilizing Sequel to it's fullest in my new project. Thanks Jeremy! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "sequel-talk" group.
