I'm definitely open to replacing class_table_inheritance code with this 
code if it passes all tests. I'd just like to get some community feedback 
before doing that.

If any class_table_inheritance users could try this out and let me know if 
it works for them, and their thoughts about this in general, I would 
appreciate it.
