Apologies if this subject has been covered already, if so please point me 
at the appropriate post/guide.

I need to bulk insert data into an existing PostgreSQL database (v9.6) and 
came across this excellent guide

on SO. The operation is time-critical, so am I best avoiding ORM layer, or 
can I use Sequel to accomplish very fast bulk data inserts & if so how?
