I've just pushed a commit to Sequel that allows wrapping JSON primitives: https://github.com/jeremyevans/sequel/commit/035b214b9600ed623e38d4215bca711f09cc7d72 Please test this out in the next two weeks and let me know whether you think there should be any changes before I finalize the API.
