However, we'd like to support automatic recovery of temporarily failed backend node (even with quite long revovery time) without human intervention.I think of making it as an external scheduled code utilizing Sequoia JMX. Is there any reason against this approach? Or is there some contrib project with the same aim?
No objection against this approach, this is probably the best way to do it. I am not aware of any contrib project with the same aim.
