Hi,
We are currently assessing the feasibilty of using Sequoia for load balancing and failover. We are using Sequoia 2.10.2 and MySQL 4.10 database . Using MySQL driver, I can run the sql statement "ALTER TABLE MODIFY COLUMN ......", however same statement fails using Sequoia driver with the following error: Caused by: org.continuent.sequoia.common.exceptions.driver.DriverSQLException: Message of cause: Malformed Alter Request. No drop or add condition
Yes, this is a non-standard SQL extension of MySQL. I filed an entry in JIRA as https://forge.continuent.org/jira/browse/SEQUOIA-866 I just committed a patch in CVS HEAD for it, so it should work in the next nightly build and next Sequoia 3.0 release.

Thanks for the feedback and let us know if the fix works for you.
Emmanuel
