Hi Chris,

        - Jdk 1.5
        - 32 bit server
-MySQL is setup pretty much out of the box. I tend not to consider
that as if I go directly to the DB via MySQL driver, it's fast. Are there
special considerations for the DB when using Sequoia? I.e. "make sure you
turn on the 'using sequoia flag'.
        - No special JVM options on client or sequoia controller.

Thanks,

Randall

Yes, we use Sequoia to scale our reads and to create an active-active
cluster environment. I think that the balancing is the point of this fast
results.

Some questions:

- Which jdk do u use?
- 32 Bit or 64 Bit 2003 Server?
- Did you configure your mysql correctly? Maybe you can tune the backends
(we tuned postgres a lot)
- Are u using special options for the jvm?

...
sounded very very slow :(

so far,
chris
