Hi, Christopher,
> but what is weird is when we then rerun the client,
> the client would be able to insert records on both
> nodes!

Thats the same ugly behavior i detected and reported one month ago[1].
I filed a bug for this [2].

There is no split-brain scenario in sequoia using jgroups/appia/spread.
Thats why you saw this behavior, when the crashed controller returns he
accepts inserts. Even if he shouldn't accept them cause is database is
not in sync.

> when i issue the "show controllers" command, it only
> shows the local controller for each machine.
> for example in node2:
> vdb(admin) > show controllers
> vdb is hosted by 1 controller(s):
> 192.168.5.112:1090
>

The reason why we see only one controller is another bug i filed [3].

But unfortunately nobody takes care about those bugs, cause the company
which runs this open-source project sells an enhanced version with
self-developed group-communication. In which these bugs do not occur. I
don't say thats bad, but it is not good, that there is no community left
that cares about the bugs with OpenSource group-communications.
