Hi Martin,
So I’m currently running into a major issue with Sequoia improperly
binding to public IP addresses instead of the explicitly stated local
ip address as defined the controller.xml configuration.
I suppose that you are using Sequoia 2.10.10. Are you talking about the
IP address that is bound to listen to the incoming JDBC connections or
the RMI connector address used to connect the console?
This is a late onset issue that has occurred after the system had been
working properly for a week or so. This means that something on the
box changed, and the only things that have been modified by user are
some custom initialization scripts that we have been working on to
startup and shutdown the sequoia controller and virtual databases.
These scripts should have nothing to do with the way sequoia binds to
IP addresses.
I am looking for any ideas on things that could cause this type of
issue, so we have somewhere to start looking!
Does your machine have multiple NICs?
Do you have IPv6 enabled?
Are you trying to use the loopback address as the bind address?
Could you post your controller xml file to see how you set the IP
address? Are you sure that the controller is really loading the config
file you are thinking it should use?
Thanks for the feedback,
Emmanuel
