protest in downtown Belgrade, Serbia, Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. A U.N. war crimes
tribunal on Thursday acquitted the former prime minister of Kosovo Ramush
Haradinaj and two of his former Kosovo Liberation Army comrades for the second
time of murdering and torturing Serbs and their supporters in Kosovo's war for
independence. Serbian officials and media had been anticipating for days that
Haradinaj would be acquitted less than two weeks after two Croatian generals
were cleared of charges of killing and deporting Serbs in a 1995 military
blitz, a judgment that sparked rage in Belgrade, where many see the tribunal as
anti-Serb. (AP Photo/Andrej Cukic)

Hundreds of Serbian nationalists have torn and burned American and EU flags,
angry that a U.N. court acquitted a former Kosovo rebel leader on charges of
murdering Serbs during the 1998-99 war for independence.

Followers of the far-right Serbian Radical Party at a protest Friday in the
capital Belgrade also demanded the removal from power of Serbia's government
and president because of their support for the Balkan country's integration
into the European Union.

Party official Nemanja Sarovic says Serbia should turn instead toward Russia,
Latin America and "other traditional friends."

Many in Serbia are furious that the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague,
Netherlands, acquitted former Kosovo PM Ramush Haradinaj on Thursday. The court
also recently overturned the conviction of two Croatian generals for crimes
against Serbs.
