Very nature of true God
Who, upon our soil has trod,
did not grasp equality -
He became a man, like me.
Christ took on the servant form,
Humbled Himself, to perform
and obey the Father's will
All the way to Cal'vry's hill.
By His death upon the cross
We gained riches at His loss.
God exalted Him, the Christ,
For His gracious sacrifice.
Jesus! Name of wondrous love
Name all other names above,
Unto which must every knee
Bow in deep humility.
Let your mind be just like Christ's
Willing service; sacrifice;
Living blameless; loving; true;
God works both to will and do.
